Full course description
Participants will research, evaluate, learn, and create three different assessments with three different assessment apps or sites
to utilize with students. (Ex: Quizlet, Edpuzzle, Kahoot, Quizizz, GoFormative)
In each of the three assessment tools teachers must due the following:
1. Create an account
2. Add 10 or more questions
3. Variety of question types must be used (multiple choice, short answer, video embedded, image or graph utilized)
4. After assessment is given, results must be evaluated and then make a determination on how these results will drive
instruction
By evaluating and learning online assessment tools, educators have the ability to create a formal assessment that provides an
engaging way for students to assess where they are at with a standard. The data is then used to further develop lessons for
student growth on the outcome or to move past it.
IL Professional Teaching Standards: #8 Assessment
The assessment data provides the student and the teacher with the necessary information on where a student is at with regard
to the standard. The teacher is then able to design a lesson to fill in any gaps the student may be missing and the student is
aware of what they need to work on. Quick, online assessments, that are automatically graded are necessary for constant
feedback for both the teacher and the student.
